What is the ChatGPT Impact Project team doing?

The ChatGPT impact project: Tracking the impact of ChatGPT in society and academia.

The purpose of this project is to track the impact of ChatGPT in society and academia from a quantitative approach. Our goals are:

  1. Quantify the number of research papers, and other scholarly publications about ChatGPT, and track changes over time.
  2. Investigate the influence of ChatGPT on academia by analyzing its impact across different areas, disciplines, languages, and types of documents.
  3. Quantify the number of books that have been published on ChatGPT, and analyze trends in book production over time.
  4. Analyze the impact of ChatGPT on citation metrics, such as citation counts and other article and outlet-level metrics
  5. Track the volume of social media content related to ChatGPT that is being created and shared, and analyze its changes and trends over time.
  6. Monitor the use of ChatGPT-related keywords on social media platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram and Twitter, and assess the overall sentiment and engagement around the topic.

...and more to come!
